Safety is No. 1

PoleCare International greatly values work place health and safety. It is our company policy to promote occupational health and safety, and to take every reasonable precaution to ensure our work places are safe and healthy for our employees, clients, as well as the general public as they may come into contact with our worksites.

The Occupational Health & Safety Act and accompanying regulations, along with generally accepted industry health and safety practices,shall describe the minimum standards expected for health and safety in our workplaces. All work-related activities shall be performed in compliance with the Act and accompanying regulations.

We recognize and value the knowledge and skills of employees with regard to perform their jobs safety and will work in a spirit of consultation and cooperation with our crew supervisors and workers of all levels. All employees are supported and encouraged to participate and contribute to our health and safety programs and initiatives. We commit to the development and implementation of rules and measures, through our training and internal responsibility system, in order to prevent and minimize occupational injury and illness.

We hold all levels of company management responsible for the implementation of this policy, as well as the continuous maintenance and improvement of our health and safety programs. All employees are requested to comply with our OH&S policy, to follow our health and safety programs, and to cooperate with our health and safety representative as well as personnel from any authorities performing health and safety related duties on our work sites. We shall make sure that company management,supervisors, and workers all share the responsibility of health and safety in our workplaces.

At the very minimum, we make the following mandatory to all PoleCare employees

  • All workers must have WHMIS training
  • Proper PPE must be used at all workplaces
  • Company vehicle drivers must have clean abstract
  • Each crew must have at least two First Aid providers
  • All client specific OH&S requirements must be followed
  • All federally and provincially required trainings must be up to date
  • Pesticide applications must be in compliance with respective provincial regulations
  • Jobsite hazard assessment, tailboard meeting,safety inspections must be conducted

Started in 2009, we have implemented and kept up to date a comprehensive OH&S program which is both recognized locally by NBCSA and interprovincial compliant with ISNetworld, Avetta and Contractor Compliance.
